If your 6-digit HBO Max TV code isn’t working, the most common cause is an expired code or a browser problem. Get a new code on your TV, then enter it in a private or incognito browser window.

1. Get a fresh code

   On your TV, go back and choose Sign In again. Use the new code right away.

2. Use a private or incognito window

   Open a private or incognito window in your browser and go to hbomax.com/tvsignin (or HBOMax.com/signin).

3. Enter the code carefully

   Type all 6 characters exactly as they appear on your TV.

Other causes

Your browser isn't supported

Use the latest version of Chrome, Firefox, Microsoft Edge, or Safari. Clearing your browser cache can also help.

You're on a fake or lookalike website

Make sure the address bar shows hbomax.com. Third-party “activation” sites can’t sign you in and may try to collect your details or payment.

The TV app is out of date

Update the HBO Max app from your TV’s app store, restart your TV device, and try again.

The code keeps failing

Sign in another way. Choose Use Email Address or Use Mobile Number on the TV sign-in screen. See Sign in with your email and a one-time code.
