The fastest way to sign in to HBO Max on your TV is to scan the QR code on the sign-in screen with your phone’s camera. If you’re already signed in to HBO Max on your phone, your TV signs in automatically.

Open the sign-in screen on your TV

Open HBO Max on your TV and choose Sign In. Stay on the screen showing the QR code.

Point your phone camera at the code

Open your phone’s Camera app and point it at the QR code on your TV. A link appears on your phone.

Tap the link

Tap the link. If you’re signed in to HBO Max on your phone, you’re signed in on your TV automatically.

Finish signing in if prompted

If you aren’t signed in on your phone, enter your HBO Max account email, choose Continue, and enter your password or one-time code.

Choose who's watching

Pick a profile on your TV and start streaming.
Move closer to the TV, make sure the whole code is in frame, and reduce glare on the screen. On some Android phones, QR scanning is in Google Lens rather than the camera app.
